Classified listings may require information such as a region, city and Postal Code so potential buyers can determine the general location of the item or service being advertised.
A street address is not required unless specifically stated otherwise for a particular service. Sellers should not provide a home or other precise address unless they are comfortable making that information available in connection with their listing.
Information that you place in a public classified listing or choose to make public in your profile may be viewed by other users and visitors to the website.
You should not include information in a public listing that you do not want others to see.
Email addresses used to register an account or publish a listing are not automatically displayed publicly.
Users may, however, be given the option to choose to display their email address publicly. If you select that option, your email address may be visible to anyone who can view the applicable listing or profile.
You can avoid publicly displaying your email address by leaving that option disabled.
Van Isle Classifieds does not sell users' email addresses to third parties for marketing purposes.
When you contact another user, reply to an inquiry, or respond directly by email, the email address you use may be disclosed to the other person as part of that communication. Similarly, if another user contacts you and you reply directly to their email, your email address may become known to them.
For additional privacy, users may wish to maintain a separate email address for classified advertising.
Where map functionality is available, displaying a map with a classified listing is optional and is controlled by the seller.
If you choose to use a map or precise-location feature, location information associated with your listing may be displayed to potential buyers.
You should not provide a home or other precise street address unless you are comfortable having that location associated with your public listing.
Map services may rely on third-party mapping or geocoding providers. If these services are enabled, information such as location data, IP addresses or other technical information may be transmitted to those providers as necessary to provide the map service.

Classified advertising involves communication between members of the public.
Use care when deciding what personal information to include in a listing, profile, email or other communication with another user.
We recommend that you do not publicly post information such as your home address, financial information or other sensitive personal information unless it is genuinely necessary and you understand that the information may become publicly available.
